Selfapy offers three different online courses: for depression, anxiety disorder and panic disorder. Each course combines diagnosis-specific psychoeducation, exercises and symptom questionnaires in 12 modules that build on each other. Texts, videos and audios adapt to your needs.
As a family doctor's practice, we see ourselves as long-term companions in dealing with your illnesses. Our experienced and specially trained doctors will work with you to find the best therapy or solution approach for your individual complaints. In the case of a diagnosis of depression, anxiety disorder or panic disorder , this may also be the Selfapy app. In this case, you will be given a prescription for Selfapy. You can then send the prescription to your health insurance company in the usual way. You will then receive your individual activation code from them.
No, the Selfapy courses and traditional psychotherapy are independent health insurance benefits. Your entitlement to psychotherapy remains unaffected when you use Selfapy.
You can enter the activation code into the app up to three months after receiving it to unlock your DiGA. The period of use itself is 90 days. Your DiGA will remind you from time to time that you need a follow-up prescription to continue using the app. You can easily get the follow-up prescription back from us.
All public health insurances reimburse DiGAs, and most private health insurances do too. However, as a precaution, check with your health insurance company beforehand if you are privately insured. Once you have the OK from your health insurance company to reimburse Selfapy, the reimbursement process works as usual for private health insurance.
Download Selfapy from the App or Play Store, buy the app as a self-payer (via in-app purchase) and then get reimbursed by your private health insurance.
Yes, Selfapy is fully reimbursed by all statutory health insurers if you have been diagnosed with depression, generalised anxiety disorder or panic disorder. You send the prescription issued by your Avi Medical doctor to your statutory health insurance company via app, scan or post. Your DiGA is then activated via an individual activation code that you enter in the Selfapy app.
Most private health insurances also reimburse DiGAs, but please check this with your insurance company beforehand.
The Selfapy online courses were developed with clinical psychology experts from academia and practice using evidence-based methods. They are based on established manuals of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has shown excellent results in the treatment of mental illness worldwide. Selfapy uses validated symptom questionnaires (e.g. PHQ-9) to assess symptom progression.
Five RCT studies are currently underway at the Charité Berlin, the University of Giessen and the University of Heidelberg. The evaluation of the depression parameter by Charité Berlin shows a significant decrease in symptoms by an average of 36% after completion of the 12-week course compared to the control group. Selfapy is a CE-certified class 1a medical device. In addition, the Selfapy courses have been reviewed by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM).
