Major check-up

Major check-up

What's the big check-up?

As the saying goes: prevention is the best medicine. Health is not a matter of course and it is worth taking care of it at an early stage. A check-up therefore makes sense even if you yourself still feel fit and resilient. Many illnesses and deficiencies are initially inconspicuous and remain undetected for a long time. In order to get a holistic picture of you, we offer you a comprehensive, large check-up.

What is included in the big check-up?

To get an all-encompassing view of you and your health, your practice team will take the following steps:

  1. Anamnesis: First of all, you discuss any previous illnesses (personal anamnesis) and complaints with your doctor. In addition, the diseases within your family, as well as a social anamnesis (e.g. profession) and your lifestyle habits are discussed.
  2. A physical examination including a measurement of blood pressure is a key component.
  3. You'll also get a blood draw, which will be used to do an advanced blood analysis.
  4. Examination of the urine helps to detect kidney disease or diabetes mellitus.
  5. We will check your vaccination status together - please bring your vaccination card with you.
  6. Recording of a resting ECG to check your heart
  7. Skin cancer screening can detect melanoma at an early stage.
  8. An ultrasound examination of your abdominal organs and thyroid gland for anatomical and functional observation.
  9. A lung function test (spirometry) to check your lungs
  10. In the follow-up consultation after the examination, you discuss the results of your health examination with your doctor, taking into account your individual risk profile. Together you will consider how you can prevent the development of diseases. This usually involves making changes to your lifestyle. This includes, for example, courses on exercise, nutrition and stress management as well as information on the risks of smoking and a healthy approach to alcohol.

Good to know: The major check-up is a self-pay service (IGeL) and can only be booked after a personal consultation in one of our Avi Medical practices. The exact services and the resulting price will then be agreed with you according to your individual needs and any insurance conditions.
